01How it works
No modeling software, no turntable rig. A clear photo is enough to start, and you can add angles when you have them.
One sharp, still photo of the object, ideally against a plain background. Two to four more angles of the same object improve the result.
ShapeStudio reconstructs the shape and surface from what the camera saw and fills in the rest. It takes minutes. We email you when the model is ready, so there is nothing to keep open.
Take a watertight STL and 3MF at the size you choose, ready to slice. Or keep a textured model in your archive, with an online viewer and phone AR. Or both.
02Two uses
The same photo can become a print file for the workbench or a textured model for the record. Choose when the model is ready.

Enter a height, width, or depth and the file is sized to it. Every print file is checked to be watertight before it reaches you. Very thin features may not print on every printer, so scale up or thicken them in your slicer if your machine needs it.
A textured model you keep: GLB, OBJ, USDZ, with an online viewer and phone AR.
For the pieces you cannot print and would not want to: an heirloom, a collection, a museum object. Turn it in the browser, hold it up in AR on your phone, and keep the files in your own storage for as long as you like.

Tiers differ in geometry detail and texture resolution. Three work from a single photo; the fourth measures the object from many. Pricing announced at launch.

We would rather you know this before you upload than after you print.
A model from one photo is an AI reconstruction. The sides the camera could not see are inferred, not measured.
Sizes are estimates unless you enter one. Tell us a height, width, or depth and the print file is sized to it.
Every print file is checked to be watertight, but very thin features may not print on every printer.
Your models are private to you. There is no public gallery, and we do not show your objects to other users.
When accuracy matters, use Scan mode. It measures the object from many photos instead of inferring it from one.
05House rules
Short, and not negotiable. Uploads that break them are refused, and accounts that keep trying are closed.
You must own the photo or have the right to use it.
No firearms, firearm parts, other weapons, or replicas of them.
Keys, picks, bump keys, and anything else made to open a lock you do not own.
No copyrighted characters, logos, or branded designs unless you hold the rights.
A real person's likeness, in a figure or a bust, only with that person's consent.
You must be 18 or older to use ShapeStudio.

A sharp, well-lit photo of one object against a plain background, taken from slightly above the front. Avoid glass, mirrors, strong reflections, and motion blur. Two to four extra angles of the same object help.
Minutes. We email you when the model is ready, so you do not need to keep the page open. Scan mode takes longer because it works from many photos.
Print files are checked to be watertight and sized to the number you enter, so they slice without repair. Very thin features may not print on every printer. If your machine struggles, scale the model up or thicken those parts in your slicer.
It is a reconstruction. The front matches the photo closely; the sides and back are inferred, and sizes are estimates unless you enter one. For an heirloom that has to be right, use Scan mode with 20 to 300 photos.
Add angles gives a single-image model two to four photos to work from. It improves the result, but the sides no camera saw are still inferred. Scan mode is true photogrammetry from 20 to 300 photos: measured rather than inferred, for heirlooms where accuracy matters.
Only you. Models are private to the person who made them. There is no public gallery, and we do not use your objects to promote ShapeStudio.
